More specifically, our research objectives are the following. We want to:
- Understand the challenges of non-profit marketization and its impact on how NPOs organize volunteering practices;
- Develop a robust theoretical conceptualization of volunteering that takes account of the implications of what it means to be non-profit-like in a market economy;
- Construct a comprehensive repertoire of current volunteering practices highlighting the impacts of non-profit marketization in transforming and shaping these practices.
- Develop case studies that focus on how volunteers, non-profit practitioners and beneficiaries experience, understand and deal with non-profit marketization when engaging in volunteering.
